Basic Handgun Safety & Awareness Class

For Women and Men

Revolver or Semi-Automatic Handgun

We can help you in getting started or as a refresher with our Basic Handgun Safety & Awareness Class. 

This class features instruction of the Proper Safety and Handling Techniques, Function of a Handgun, Proper Sight Alignment, Sight Picture and Trigger Control. 

You will experience a 50 Round Live Firing exercise with a Handgun on the Range while under our Supervision, Instruction and Coaching ,Teaching you Proper Marksmanship Skills with Hands-On Training. 

Completion of this class gives you the knowledge of the importance of continued practice while improving your Marksmanship Skills and Abilities.  The importance of staying familiar with your weapon is imperative should you have to defend yourself against an Attack or Deadly Threat. 

The information you learn during this class will enable you to ask knowledgeable questions in order for you to receive professional advice for the selection of a Dependable Handgun that is best for your needs.  If you do not own a handgun you can rent a handgun from our stock of Rental Guns. We provide this service to also aid you in the selection of a purchase or future practice if needed.  

We have enrolled several people in this class that inform us they have taken a NC CCH Class somewhere with a Insufficient Safety, Handling, Marksmanship Instruction and a Firearms Qualification TESTING that leaves them with a feeling they are not confident with a weapon and feel they do not know how to safely or properly handle a firearm making them a danger to themselves or others.

We strongly recommend that you learn the basic's first on the more Simple and Reliable Revolver with a steel frame, 3 or 4 inch barrel.  This type of handgun is much easier and simpler to shoot enabling you to learn and understand the basics much easier.  Rental Guns are available to you for this class.  A Quality Carry or Defense Handgun that is right for you can be recommended.

A Semi Automatic Handgun can be instructed with a Personal Coaching Session at a later date if desired or in the Basic Class.

       CLASS SUBJECTS

• Basic Safety Rule presentation with reports and features.
• Safe Handling of a Revolver and Semi Automatic Handgun.
• Responsibility of discharging a firearm concerning others in public.
• Identify the Basic Parts of a Revolver and Semi Automatic Handgun.
• Basic Marksmanship Presentation and Instruction.

        HANDS-ON TRAINING WITH WEAPON 

• How the Revolver and Semi Automatic Handgun function.
• Unload, clearing the action, making the weapon safe. 
• Drills, loading and unloading weapon with training ammunition.

        MARKSMANSHIP TRAINING WITH WEAPON

• Proper Stance.
• Proper Grip.
• Proper and Correct Sight Alignment and Sight Picture.
• Proper Trigger Control.
• Handling misfires and clearing malfunctions and jams.
• Live fire exercises on the range under the direction of EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS. 50 rounds fired.

Learn the defining difference between just shooting a handgun or aiming a handgun and controlling your shot to your intended target. 

This course is 3.5 hours. We supply ear, eye protection and targets for this class.

The student is responsible for the firearm and ammunition. If the student does not own a handgun you can rent one of our rental guns for $10.00, Six Month or One Year Range Members $8.00 per gun.  Ammunition sold separately. We can offer you a recommendation on the purchase of a Weapon.  Handgun, Shotgun or Rifle.

Class Fee: $65.00.  Pre registration is required.

Payment Form:  Handgunners Inc. will only accept Money Orders, Credit Card or Cash for any class pre registration .  No checks accepted for any class registration.  All class pre registration forms and payment must be received 5 business days prior to pre scheduled class.  We will contact you when we receive your registration for Credit Card Information and confirm your registered class date and time. If paying with Credit Card please note that on the bottom  of the form.

If you decide to change your class date after you have submitted your registration and we have acknowledged it there will be a $20.00  Transfer Fee for the next available class.
